Harp Therapy Gathering

Carole Krysan recently attended the first-ever Harp Therapy Gathering sponsored by Lyon and Healy held on the campus of Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, from July 15-18. The purpose of the “gathering” was to bring together the directors of various programs that provide training for harpists interested in being certified as harp practitioners so prospective students could compare them. In addition, there were several sessions devoted to music appropriate for hospital settings, music theory, improvisation, playing from fake books, and much more. Ray Pool, Laurie Riley, Tina Tourin, Edie Elken, and Ron Price were among the presenters. It was an informative, well-organized, and valuable workshop.

Thanks for sharing with us, Carole. It sounds like you had a fun and rewarding time!
